Prepare for the High Holy Days with a very special three-session mini course, “From Couch to Congregation: Preparing for the 5778 High Holy Days” at Temple Shalom.

The classes are:

Learning to Listen: The Sound and Symbolism of the Shofar, on Sunday, Sept. 10, from 10 a.m.-noon. Learn the history of the shofar and our responsibilities in listening. Maybe even learn how to blow.

Apples and Honey: A High Holy Days Dessert Primer, on Tuesday, Sept. 12, from 7-9 p.m. What’s so special about apples and honey, anyway? Share recipes and samples.

Returning Home: A Spiritual “To Do” List for the High Holy Days, on Thursday, Sept. 14, from 7:30-9 p.m. It’s time to reflect and embrace the new year. Learn how to achieve this.

Classes can be standalone. The cost is $8 per session or three for $18.
