Temple B’nai Brith at the Movies: A Gentleman’s Agreement

February 7, 2015

Join us for a screening of the 1947 film A Gentleman’s Agreement, featuring Gregory Peck. This Oscar-winning film changed how Americans viewed anti-semitism as a crusading reporter (Peck) pretends to be Jewish to uncover the “polite” bigotry of the era that was deemed acceptable. With Dorothy McGuire, John Garfield, and Celeste Holm. Dan Kimmel will introduce the film and run a short discussion immediately following the screening.

Daniel M. Kimmel is editor of The Jewish Advocate and has been a film critic and lecturer for more than thirty years. He is the author of six books and has taught at Emerson College, Boston University, and Suffolk University.
