Boston Jewish Food Conference

Top Pick March 26, 2017 Waltham $20.00 - $40.00
BJFC_2016-56

This annual springtime event fosters new dynamics and connections within the Jewish community by utilizing food and agriculture to discuss the intersections of justice, sustainability, and culture against a background of Jewish traditions and contemporary life. The day includes multiple workshops (in the kitchen and classroom), and culminates in a Community Celebration featuring do-it-yourself activities, advocacy opportunities, local networking and a silent auction. There will also be a kosher, vegetarian meal prepared by conference participants.

Our focus this year is on the Community Networks that comprise our food systems and Jewish communities, both in Boston and regionally across New England. From our prayer to our gardens, community is essential to our faith and our practice. We will explore the web of food sourcing, distribution, and consumption, as well as the role of culture, institutions and our homes.

Childcare available. See our workshop line-up and the list of community sponsors. And get excited to bid at our silent auction!
