Learn how to determine what records are available, how to access the information, and how to optimize your searches and understand the results.

Judy Baston will present an overview of the Litvak Special Interest Group (LitvakSIG) website and related resources that include the All Lithuania Database (1.5 million translated records), district research groups, JewishGen and Yad Vashem. The program is presented in partnership with the Vilna Shul.

Judy Baston has served in leadership positions in LitvakSIG, BelarusSIG and JewishGen for over 15 years. She has moderated multiple discussion groups and coordinates several district research groups. She is the 2015 recipient of the International Association of Jewish Genealogical Society’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

This event is free for members. Refreshments will be served.

Pre-lecture (12:30 pm – 1:20 pm): Bessarabia, Poland and Ukraine
Post-lecture (approx. 3:30 pm): Belarus and Litvak

2nd Annual Family History Books and Heirlooms Fair will also take place on June 11, from 12:30 pm to 4:00 pm. Browse family histories written by JGSGB members. Exhibits will include scrapbooks, family heirlooms and keepsakes that connect us to our ancestors.

The JGSGB Annual Meeting and Elections will precede the lecture.
