Mondays, April 25 and May 2, 9, 16 and 23 from 1:30 to 3 p.m.
Nothing can arouse stronger feelings in any of us than being told “You have cancer.” There is considerable research suggesting that writing regularly about things that bother us can actually improve our immune system and reduce our stress. There is also research that indicates that there are numerous benefits to being in a support group. We will explore a variety of writing techniques ranging from highly structured to open ended and learn some ways to leave a written legacy for those we love, sharing stories and lessons from our lives with family and friends. We will do this in the setting of a supportive community where you will have an opportunity to connect with others facing similar challenges. Please register by sending an email to NGaulin@Facing-Cancer.org at Facing Cancer Together by April 20. Cost is $25 members/$36 non-members to be billed upon group registration. You will definitely find that you have more to write about than you ever imagined and might even walk away feeling a bit lighter, clearer, relaxed and happier. For more information about this group, please contact Rhoda Ben-Gai.
