Join us for a multi-faceted and interactive International Holocaust Remembrance Day event that includes a gallery tour, film screening and small-group conversations led by facilitators from Facing History & Ourselves. Members of Boston’s Armenian and Cambodian communities will participate in the event.

We’ll view “Who Will Write Our History?,” a 40-minute documentary about the creation of the Oyneg Shabbes Archive, a collection of journals, drawings, stories and letters created and hidden by prisoners in the Warsaw Ghetto. After the film screening, facilitators from Facing History & Ourselves will lead us on a journey to share our own stories and family histories. This experience will build community and create connections among participants of varied backgrounds. You’ll have ample time to schmooze over soft drinks and snacks.

We’ll also open the day with photographer Leslie Starobin for a gallery talk about her exhibit, “Looming in the Shadows of Lodz,” on display at The Vilna from Jan. 26 to Feb. 16 and supported by a CJP Community Creative Grant.

The event is co-sponsored by Facing History & Ourselves and is offered in partnership with the Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Boston, Boston’s 3G and the American Association of Jewish Holocaust Survivors.
