Congregation B’nai Torah of Sudbury invites the community to join Rabbi Dr. Lisa Eiduson and cantorial student intern Rachel Steinberg for an abbreviated Shabbat service and discussion of Ken Burns’ PBS documentary: “The U.S. and the Holocaust.”

The documentary is a three-part, six-hour series directed by Ken Burns. It explores and examines the role of the United States— government officials, politicians, and citizens—in the Holocaust. Specifically, this documentary grapples with the difficult question of whether the United States could have done more to open its doors to the hundreds of thousands of refugees who tried to flee Nazi Germany.

The film can be streamed on the PBS website (for a donation). Also available on Amazon Prime with a 7-day free trial of PBS Documentaries.

The service will be held both in-person and via live stream.
