Join JDC Entwine Shanghai alumni Stas Gayshan and Nate Vaughan for an evening learning about Jewish Shanghai.

Featuring a fireside chat with Yael Farjun, an Israeli ex-pat living in Shanghai, who will provide a compelling history of the Jewish legacy in Shanghai today.

She came across the Jewish history of Shanghai by accident and was captivated by the incredible stories she uncovered. Six years later, she decided to start a personal project: finding, mapping, documenting, collecting, and archiving the history of Jewish China. As part of the current Shanghai Jewish community, she is also an active member of the young professional networking group and involved in other community related projects.

Yael is a graduate of Haifa University, where she double-majored in Asia studies and political science, focusing on China. She has been living and working in Shanghai since 2010; upon moving to Shanghai, Yael started her business, a travel agency.

OK, it’s not a fireside chat. But it’s not NOT a fireside chat. Either way, come join your peers for snacks, and some awesome JDC history. Don’t know what JDC or Entwine are? No problem! Joan Kagan and Sophie Hearne, JDC Entwine’s Boston community representatives, will be there to talk with you about how you can become more involved.
