Please join Cantorial Soloist Jodi Blankstein, guitarist Adam Dehner, and author Dr. Ruth Nemzoff for a special Shabbat service as they intertwine music and stories to explore how music unites and transforms communities. Music excites. Music brings beauty. Music also socializes. With music we share our aspirations. We build relationships. Both Jews and non-Jews are invited to come and explore these themes and more in this thought-provoking special service and musical event.

Jodi Blankstein received her Cantorial Soloist certificate in Jewish liturgical music from Hebrew College in June of 2010. To hear samples of her music, visit http://www.jodichants.com.

Adam Dehner, a professional musician and educator, has been in the Jewish music business for more than ten years. He is also a teacher of students with special needs in the Boston Public Schools.

Dr. Ruth Nemzoff is the author of Don’t Bite Your Tongue: How to Foster Rewarding Relationships with your Adult Children and Don’t Roll Your Eyes: Making In-Laws Into Family. A former assistant minority leader of the legislature and Deputy Commissioner of Health and Welfare in New Hampshire, she has also been an advice columnist and has published articles on changing perceptions of mothers of children with disabilities, environmental advertising, women in politics, and Jewish intermarriage.

If you would like to be there but cannot attend, you can tune in through live streaming. From http://www.congregationshalom.org use the Worship link and find the heading “please join us for services with our live stream” (use a browser other than Internet Explorer).
