How can you help others when helping makes you even more afraid? For many of us, helping others lets us avoid our own pain. How can you address what YOU’RE feeling? This session with Dr. Betsy Stone will provide Jewish teen education and engagement professionals with tools to support their students and communities while balancing their own self-care.

If you have questions, please contact Leah Finkelman or Margie Bogdanow.

This event is for youth engagement professionals only.

About the speaker: Betsy S. Stone, Ph.D., is a much sought-after teacher in the Jewish community. Although officially retired, she is busier than ever teaching as an adjunct lecturer at HUC-JIR, frequently presenting through the Jewish Education Project in New York, conducting webinars and leading programs across the country on a variety of topics connected to adolescent development, parenting teens and more. She is an engaging speaker whose passion for the lives of teens and their parents shines through in all that she does. In the past couple of months she has done programs for rabbis, Hillels, congregations, JCCs and more as communities work to best respond to the COVID-19 crisis and its impact on teens, their families and the professionals who work with them.
