Congregation B’nai Torah invites the community to its fourth annual Women’s Seder. B’nai Torah is working with the Sudbury-Wayland-Lincoln Domestic Violence Roundtable and its Shower for Shelters program again this year to raise awareness and collect personal items for those in need.

Just as the Jews left Egypt to escape persecution and death, survivors of domestic violence also face their own journeys to freedom. They must often leave their homes, families and jobs behind in order to find safety and freedom from abuse. They have to resettle in new places and begin their lives over again. Join B’nai Torah as Rabbi Eiduson leads participants in exploring the relationship between the two journeys to freedom.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their favorite Passover dessert to share, as well as much-needed new “shower” gifts to benefit domestic abuse survivors. The collection for Shower for Shelters will take place at Congregation B’nai Torah through the end of March. The program is collecting new items for families establishing homes, such as twin size bedding, crib sheets, bath towels, kitchen appliances and general kitchenware, diapers, gift cards, etc. For a full list of items, please visit bnaitorah.com.
