The Transformative Women of the High Holy Days with Anne Gordon

Open to women only.

In this course, we will investigate the women who are prominent in the liturgy of the High Holidays, using both the biblical and liturgical texts where their stories are found. We will explore the models of transformation they provide, from narratives of barrenness, prayer, and nationhood. Personalities under consideration include Sarah, Rachel, Chana, Avigayil and the mother of Sisera. Please bring a Tanakh with you.
